NEW GLOWSTICKWARS SITE, PRODUCTS

I commend the 10% donation. With that being said, I really wish that glowsticks had never been invented.

could not agree more about needing people to stop throwing them at the band. every single tube of show sticks actually has a little note inside with a message reminding phans to never throw anything at the band or at anyone else. our view is that so many people like a good war, that glow sticks are going to be bought and brought to most shows. but at least we know that every single stick acquired from gsw comes with a message of safety and raises a bit of dough for mbird.

OMG, what a bunch of wet blankets... if the band really cared about being hit by glow sticks, they'd probably stop dumping them in to the crowd. The band loves it, the crowd loves it, and the money goes to a good cause. If you'd like to protest, I'm sure a more tolerant fan would be glad to accept your ticket... you should probably stay home and get the sand out of your jang anyway.

Dumping them into the crowd? Never seen that.
I hate nitrous dealers too but don't think I have sand in my "jang" or should stay home. People can feel free to have different likes and dislikes. I commend the support to MBF but personally think these are awful. Waste, mess, distraction, and someone else is relegated to cleaning up (and depositing into waste stream: toxic or not).

I commend the folks at GSW not only for the Mockingbird donations but that they are reacting proactively to the "waste" criticism: note that many of the innovative new glow products are recyclable and wearable, like the shoelaces and gloves, so they won't end up on the ground.

While certainly a distraction, I would think artists of their stature are able to focus right through a couple glowsticks to the grill.

The point is the band should worry about music not getting hit in the face. They could always do what the Jeff Healy Band did in Roadhouse and put up chicken wire.
